Our Story: MelRose Farm History

It all started with the love of Blueberries. Our farm was originally planted in 1977. It became MelRose farm was established in 2004 when Mel and Rosey Johnson became blueberry farmers. Mel was born and raised in Oregon and came back to his roots in 2004. “The folks” as we call them developed a wonderful place for people to come pick and enjoy the beautiful Oregon summer.  We proudly serve clients from Salem to Montana, Idaho and California, and some local restaurants.  Mel truly loved being a farmer and took great pride in the care of the bushes, while Rosey was busy talking to clients or picking for local restaurants.

Gone to soon: Mel lost his battle with cancer and passed away in August 2015, and is truly missed by all!

We now have a small farm as a memorial to Mel, Pop as we called him. We'll never eat a blueberry without thinking of you!

We love you!

It's with a heavy heart we close the farm

We have closed the farm to the public. We just didn't get enough pickers to enjoy our berries. We are now a private farm that caters to our family and friends. We apologize to the family who will miss coming to MelRose Blueberry Farm. We truly enjoyed meeting each and every one of you!

Rosey is doing wonderful and truly enjoying her retirement, she sends her best to each of you and wants you to know how much she enjoyed having you come to our farm.

Thank you again!

We have closed!

It's with a heavy heart we close our farm. We just didn't have the pickers and made the difficult decision to close the farm.

We want to thank all of you who came to MelRose Farm!
